PARIS — eSilicon and Brite Semiconductor announced they have joined Synopsys' IP OEM Partner Program.

Synopsys said its IP OEM Partner Program aims to enable participating companies to have one central supplier for their IP needs.

In other words, members standardize on Synopsys' broad portfolio of silicon-proven DesignWare interface and analog IP such as USB, PCI Express(r), DDR, HDMI, SATA, Ethernet, MIPI IP including 3GDigRF, CSI-2, D-PHY, data converters and audio codecs for their system-on-chip (SoC) designs.

Eventually, Synopsys said that by enabling member companies to access a wide range of interoperable IP from a single supplier, it helps them and their end-customers speed time-to-market and reduce risk for their complex SoC designs.

In a statement, Patrick Soheili, vice president of marketing and business development at eSilicon, declared. "As the pioneer of the Value Chain Producer business model, we have been using DesignWare IP for many years to identify the right match of IP for our broad customer base and this partner program is a formalization of that arrangement. Synopsys' proven DesignWare IP combined with eSilicon's proven first-pass silicon track record enables our customers to quickly ramp to volume production."

Brite Semiconductor noted that, as a member of Synopsys' IP OEM Partner Program, it is able to develop a deeper level of expertise with their products, thus to quickly integrate their IP into its customers' designs "with less risk and improved time-to-market."

Synopsys launched the IP OEM Partner Program in November 2008 with fabless ASIC companies and supply channel partners. Arrow Electronics, Inc and Global Unichip Corp. (GUC) indeed joined Open-Silicon, an early adopter of the program, as the first companies to sign multiyear agreements standardizing on Synopsys' DesignWare IP for their SoC designs.

GUC and Open-Silicon announced they have renewed their participation. Synopsys' statement said no word about Arrow.
